Mukhyamantri Swa-Niyojan Yojana Assam: A Step-by-Step Guide to Applying for Self-Employment Scheme


Mukhyamantri Swa-Niyojan Yojana is a self-employment scheme launched by the Government of Assam to encourage entrepreneurship and create job opportunities for the youth in the state. Here are the steps to apply for the scheme:
  1. Eligibility Criteria: The applicant should be a permanent resident of Assam, aged between 18 and 40 years, and must have passed at least Class X.
  2. Selection of trade: The applicant must choose a trade from the list of approved trades under the scheme, which includes industries such as food processing, agriculture, handicrafts, tourism, and others.
  3. Preparation of project report: The applicant must prepare a project report with details of the proposed business, including the investment required, expected returns, marketing plan, and other relevant details.
  4. Submission of application: The applicant must submit the project report along with the application form, which can be downloaded from the official website of the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, Assam.
  5. Approval of loan: The application will be scrutinized by a district-level committee, and if approved, the applicant will be eligible for a loan of up to Rs. 10 lakh from a bank.
  6. Training: Once the loan is approved, the applicant must undergo a training program to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to run the proposed business successfully.
  7. Disbursement of loan: After the training program, the loan amount will be disbursed to the applicant's bank account, and he/she can start the business.
  8. Monitoring and Evaluation: The Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training will monitor the progress of the business and provide necessary support and guidance to ensure its success.

It is important to note that the scheme also provides for subsidy and margin money to eligible applicants, based on the nature of the business and the amount of investment required.
