"CBSE CTET 2023: Notification Released, Online Application OpenCBSE CTET 2023



The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification regarding the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) July 2023 on its official website.


CBSE will be conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in the month of July, 2023 to August, 2023, at various examination centres spread across the country. Candidates who want to pursue teaching in school level as their profession must appear and qualify in CTET . Interested and eligible candidates may apply online here

For Classes I-V (Primary Stage)

1. The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
2. The candidate should have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education with at least 45% marks (in accordance with NCTE Recognition Norms and Procedure Regulations, 2002) OR a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed) OR a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) with at least 50% marks.
3. Alternatively, the candidate should have a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree.
4. Candidates who have acquired a Bachelor of Education degree from any NCTE recognized institution will be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V, provided they undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE within two years of appointment as a primary teacher.

For Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage)

1. The candidate should have a Graduation degree.
2. The candidate should have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) OR a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed) OR a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed OR a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) with at least 50% marks.
3. Alternatively, the candidate should have a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) degree with at least 45% marks (in accordance with NCTE Recognition Norms and Procedure Regulations issued from time to time in this regard).
4. Any candidate who has qualified the B.Ed. programme recognized by NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET.
5. Additionally, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by NCTE or RCI) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.

Application Fee of CTET 2023

The application fee for CTET 2023 varies based on the category of the candidate and the papers they are applying for. For only Paper I or II, the fee is Rs. 1000 for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PWD candidates. For both Paper I & II, the fee is Rs. 1200 for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 600 for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

The important dates for CBSE CTET Exam 2023

1. Starting date of submission of online application: 27th April 2023
2. Last date of submission of online application: 26th May 2023
3. Issue of CTET Admit Card: To be updated later
4. Date of CTET Examination 2023: July to August 2023
